LOCAL amateur watercolour painters who would like to take part in a TV Channel 4's popular Watercolour Challenge, details can be found in my Amersham column.

THE ever popular annual exhibition by Beechwood Artists takes place next weekend, May 19 & 20 at St Peter's Community Centre in Gravel Hill. Opening times are 10am till 6pm.

NEXT Wednesday, May 16, the National Society for Epilepsy presents a concert by the Chalfont Concert Wind Band in the very spacious venue of their Main Hall starting at 7.30pm. Entrance is £5 on the door and tickets can be booked on (01753) 863825. The society is based in Chesham Lane, Chalfont Common.

ON SATURDAY night the locally-based Misbourne Orchestra will be playing at Dr Challoners Girls High School in Cokes Lane, Little Chalfont, at 8pm. Tickets can be bought on the door.

ON SATURDAY morning the Chiltern Fuchsia Society will be having a sale of fuchsias, and basket and container plants in the Reading Room, next to the Feathers pub in St Giles, from 9am till 11.30am.

FOR enthusiasts of the great local bard John Milton, The Friends of Miltons Cottage present a performance of Samson Agonistes by Peter Hamilton-Dyer next Friday, May 18, in the Parish Church at 7.30pm.
