Resurfacing work on course
8:00am Thursday 11th October 2012 in Ammanford news
THE controversial resurfacing works in Ammanford’s Quay Street remain on course to be completed on schedule, Ammanford town councillors have heard.
County councillor Colin Evans, who recently attended a meeting with town regeneration chief Stuart Walters and Aberdare-based contractors Alun Griffiths said everything was going “swimmingly”.
Councillors had earlier expressed fears that the £1m works would over-run and ruin the town’s build-up to Christmas.
But Cllr Evans said: “We are right on schedule.
“The contractors are working until 10pm in the evening to ensure this deadline is met.”

maybe they are only on schedule because they had to work on in the evenings to keep up and employ extra staff or whatever they do.
which leaves one question - where has the extra money come from and who is paying for it. you are really looking at an extra 280 hours times the amount of extra workers that could possibly amount to approx £30,000
if the amount is coming from the original contract, fine. if it is coming from elsewhere, the public will have to be told
