Offical complaint over store remarks

PLAID CymruMP Jonathan Edwards andAM Rhodri Glyn Thomas have lodged an official complaint against Carmarthenshire county council leader Kevin Madge as the rowover planning applications for Sainsbury’s stores in Llandeilo and Cross Hands rumbles on.

In a joint statement with Sainsbury’s, Cllr Madge accused the pair of “deliberately trying to sabotage” the applications.

In a letter to chief executive Mark James, Mr Edwards and Mr Thomas say: “It is regrettable that we have to lodge a complaint against the actions of Cllr Kevin Madge and to seriously question the role council officers and staff have played in assisting in what we consider a partisan political activity.”

They contend that the press release was “loaded with misleading statements, inaccurate information and false accusations”.
