Pantycelyn ‘a done deal’

THE closure of Llandovery’s Ysgol Pantycelyn was “a fait accompli” from the outset, the town mayor has claimed.

Cllr Jill Blud, a leading member of the Ysgol Pantycelyn Action Group, was commenting after campaigners saw their final attempt to secure a judicial review thrown out at the High Court.

“Our barrister was very disappointed and so were we,”

she told colleagues on Llandovery Town Council.

“The fantastic donations that were pledged from the town will cover our costs.

“We’ve heard absolutely nothing from the Welsh Office, but our barrister – bless him – still wants to take this further.

“The closure of Pantycelyn was a fait accompli from day one.

“The town council and the town have fought this all the way.”
