Right up their street

LLANDOVERY town councillors are questioning the need for parking restrictions on one of the town’s widest streets.

Carmarthenshire county council has proposed to introduce no waiting and parking places at Gellideg – but town councillors are not convinced. “In terms of width, this is one of the biggest streets in Llandovery,” Cllr Robin Ennion told colleagues.

Cllr Helene Lovell felt parked cars could impede the nearby funeral home and Cllr Elizabeth Thomas felt residents’ views were paramount.

“The residents association could contact their members – this is right up their street,” agreed Cllr Ennion. “It would be unfair if people were unable to park in their street despite the high number of funerals.”

It was agreed to write to County Hall for clarification.
