Lottery winner's bail is refused

A £1 MILLION lottery winner who has moved into Ammanford has had his application for bail rejected by a Swansea Crown Court judge after being accused of assaulting his partner.

Former cage fighter Gavin Davies, originally from Cimla in Neath, but now living at Dyffryn Road, Ammanford, is accused of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm with intent to Daniah Hussain during a car journey on the M4 on April 20.

Earlier this year, Davies, 29, was revealed as a £1 million National Lottery winner and posed for press photographers alongside his gleaming white Lamborghini Spyder.

Judge PeterHeywood turned down Davies’s bail application after hearing that he allegedly punched Ms Hussain, breaking her nose and fracturing her eardrum.

He also allegedly tried to throttle her with a seat belt.

His 22-year-old partner, who is understood to be the mother of Davies’s five-month-old son, lives in Swansea.

The defendant, who did not attend court on Monday is now scheduled to appear at a preliminary hearing on Friday, May 4.
