Former Betws man killed in bike crash

A FORMER Betws man has died following a road accident.

Christopher Jones, who lived in Shropshire, died after coming off his Honda motorcycle on the A49 near Ludlowat 2.15pm on Sunday.

Emergency services attended, but the 37-year-old dad-of-one – affectionately known to friends as Papa – was pronounced dead at the scene.

A spokesman for West Mercia police said no other vehicle was involved.

Mr Jones leaves wife Kerry and baby daughter Scarlett.

Meanwhile, tributes have flooded into the Guardian’s sister newspaper, the Hereford Times.

Cordelia McAvoy described Mr Jones as “a cheeky, fun-loving and cracking person to know”.

Dave Isaac added: “I have some great memoriesofPapa– a genuine, funnyguy and a greatmate.

“This is truly a sad loss.”
