Betws labourer demolished wall after drinking spree, court hears

A 21-year-old Betws labourer was so drunk after downing ten cans of lager and half a bottle of whiskey that he kicked down a garden wall, magistrates have been told.

Antonio Donatta D’Angelo, of 12 Caemawr, had been to a friend’s house party in Ammanford on June 12 when "he went berserk".

Dennis Davies, prosecuting, told magistrates that after downing the booze, D’Angelo went outside and began "kicking and pushing" the wall separating the neighbour’s garden.

In interview, D’Angelo said: "I had ten cans of Fosters and half a bottle of whiskey and I went nuts."

Andrew Isaac, defending told the court that D’Angelo apologised for his behaviour.

"He had been drinking excessively and he is fully ashamed for what he did. He has no excuse whatsoever."

Mr Isaac added that D’Angelo was willing to pay any compensation claim against him in full.

Magistrates fined D’Angelo £165 and ordered he pay £350 compensation.

He was also ordered to pay £80 court costs and a further £15 legal surcharge.
