The countdown has begun until one of the most affordable, fun and family orientated events returns to Tycroes.

The eleventh annual Party on the Pitch heads to Tycroes Rugby Club on Saturday, June 16 and it promises to be an extravaganza with a huge variety of attractions for every age range and every taste.

Organisers have announced the full list of acts which will be taking to the stage at the family fun day.

Five-piece rock and roll band Pastel have been announced as one of the groups which will be on hand to entertain the crowd at the event.

Pastel most notably won The Wave and Studentdigz Swansea Battle of the Bands Competition in The Hyst earlier this month winning a slot supporting 2010 UK Chart Toppers Scouting For Girls at Neath Carnival later in the summer.

Gimme Some Lovin’ - Soul Band, South Wales Premier Soul Band, will be returning to the stage this year after rocking Party on the Pitch last year. The nine-piece soul band are determined to keep the sounds of the last few decades in your heads and feet.

The third act announced is Fire Fences, a rock band from Bridgend who have been described as One of Wales most promising and exciting young bands. Since entering the music world, Fire Fences have been making big waves on the Indie-Rock scene.

Back by popular demand, international Queen tribute band Rhapsody who made their POTP debut back in 2010 and also returned in 2012 with a catalogue of timeless hits including Under Pressure and Don’t Stop Me Now.

Little Mix tribute group Little Fix will also be taking to the stage at the event alongside the star of BBC’s All Together Now Karl Lewis and acoustic trio Syren.

As well as more than nine hours of live music, Party on the Pitch 2018 sees the return of DJ Terry Bishop of Soulful Sounds who will be playing all the hits from the 1960’s to today’s top charts.

Event organiser Chris Nicholas said: “Party on the Pitch are committed to offering an affordable day out, and therefore ticket prices remain the same as last year.

“We have frozen the prices for 2018 with adult tickets priced at £10, children aged between 11 and 16 at £7 and, for the fifth consecutive year, children aged 10 and under can party for free at the event.

For those keen to get the party started early, the all-weather arena at Tycroes RFC will host the popular Welsh Wrestling on Friday, June 15.
