There's still time to have your say on issues affecting rural communities in Carmarthenshire.

The Rural Affairs consultation has been extended and residents now have up until April 30 to voice opinions and views on matters they feel are important to secure the future prosperity of Carmarthenshire’s rural communities.

A task group has been set up by executive board member for rural affairs Cllr Cefin Campbell.

Its aim is to consider the issues affecting rural communities, and to prepare a report with recommendations on how the council, in partnership with other bodies and organisations, can take action to ensure regeneration over the coming years.

The cross-party working group, made up of representatives from the Plaid Cymru, Labour and Independent groups, will undertake research and consult with as wide a range as possible of stakeholders to identify the particular issues affecting Carmarthenshire’s rural communities.

Alongside asking people what they think the challenges are for them, the consultation also asks people to identify any potential opportunities for improvements.

Cllr Campbell said: “We want to give as many people as possible the chance to have their say so we’ve decided to extend the deadline until April 30.

"I hope as many people as possible take part in this consultation as this information is very important and will form the basis of our action plan and help us identify how and where we can address any issues.”
