Cefn Coed Colliery Museum is offering local primary schools the opportunity of experiencing the museum without actually going there.

The exhibits will be transferred to the schools and laid out on display, on the day preceding the show.

On display will be mining equipment, displays depicting Victorian times, history of the Neath tram, how coal/oil is formed, also represented in video form will be the model railway and Hunslet locomotive overhaul.

The idea of a road show originated as a result of declining number of schools attending the museum.

If you think that your school would benefit from a show, please contact the museum.

Shows can only be considered during the museum closed season from October to April.

The museum will consider offering the show to community groups after assessing the school reaction.

The museum is presenting these shows free of charge, only requesting that the school has a large classroom or assembly hall available for use.
