Growing the Amman Valley has taken off to a great start with the help of a local Girlguiding group.

Over 450 trees have been planted at Golwg yr Aman Park in Garnant as part of a scheme funded by the Woodlands Trust.

Rowan, Hazel, Field Maple, Silver Birch, Grey Willow and Cherry trees were planted by members of a local Girlguiding group on December 2.

Cwmaman Town Council Community Development Officer, Rob Venus, said: “Everyone who took part enjoyed planting the trees and I would like to thank the Girlguiding group.

“We are looking at eventually creating a wellness wood for local groups to visit.

“We have 450 more trees coming in March and we are on the look out for groups to help us plant the trees.”

If you are interested in helping, you can contact Rob at robvenus@cwmamantc.org.
