Carmarthenshire County Council is well prepared for any wintery weather expected to hit the county from this evening.
Gritting will be taking place on main routes across the county from late afternoon.
Crews will carry out patrols throughout the night until the morning.
Carmarthenshire County Council’s executive board member for environment Cllr Hazel Evans said: “Our teams will be working around the clock tonight carrying out patrols and gritting all major routes in the county.
“We have crews ready 24 hours a day. Be reassured we will make every attempt to keep Carmarthenshire running if there is any adverse weather in the next few hours.”
Carmarthenshire County Council has 21 gritter lorries covering 18 routes around the county, including trunk roads.
A route takes three hours on average.
Director of Environment, Ruth Mullen, added: “Weather conditions will be monitored throughout the night as conditions develop. Duty officers will receive updates from the weather service and also from supervisors/gritting crews out on the road allowing us to respond to changing conditions.”
