A Llandybie man was arrested after a girl sent him a photograph of herself naked.

Michael Martin was charged with possessing indecent images of a 15-year-old girl.

Robin Rouch, prosecuting, told Swansea crown court it was accepted that Martin had not asked for the photograph or pressurised her into sending him it.

And he had deleted the photograph from his mobile telephone.

But police experts were able to recover the image, and one of the girl in her underwear.

Martin, aged 26, of Heol Morlais, admitted possessing indecent images.

Miss Richards described the photographs as "selfies" which the girl had taken while standing in front of a mirror.

Jim Davis, representing Martin, said there had been "something of a flirtatious" relationship between him and the girl and there were only ever two photographs.

Judge Keith Thomas said Martin was in court because of "unfortunate set of circumstances" and he accepted that Martin believed she was aged 16 or 17.

Martin was made the subject of an 18 month community order and told to complete 30 days of a rehabilitation activity and 100 hours of unpaid work for the community.
