Emergency services are currently investigating a fatal car crash involving two vehicles in Tycroes.
Police confirmed that a female passenger of a Toyota Yaris died as a result of injuries sustained in the collision.
The male driver of the other vehile has been taken to hospital.
The air ambulance helicopter, police, fire service and a number of road ambulances were in attendance.
The crash happened at around 3.40pm this afternoon (August 3) on Tycroes Road, at the Pantyffynnon junction.
It involved a red Iveco Daily van and Toyota Yaris.
Dyfed-Powys Police is appealing for witnesses.
A police spokesperson said: “Dyfed-Powys Police are continuing to investigate a two vehicle road traffic collision which occurred at approximately 3.40pm today on Tycroes Road, Ammanford, at the Pantyffynnon junction.
"Police can confirm that the female passenger of the Toyota Yaris has sadly passed away. Our thoughts remain with the family.
"The male driver of the vehicle has been taken to hospital.
"Anyone who witnessed the incident is urged to contact police in Ammanford on 101 quoting reference 229 of today (Thursday, August 3).
