This year's latest selection of Big Brother contestants have entered the house and in a launch night twist, the public got to choose their own people's housemate for Big Brother 18.

The viewers had a choice of four potential housemates and they picketed co-owner of Pontardawe-based nightclub Legacy, Tom Barber, from Swansea, who has been given special privileges as the eyes of the public and will be fed information by fellow housemates in order to cause trouble.

The 21-year-old saw off competition from Simone, Sue and Andrew and was picked to join the 15 brand new housemates for the United Kingdom Of Big Brother series.

As he arrived in the house during the live launch Big Brother gave him his first orders – to decide which of the housemates will have their Big Brother citizenship revoked and be banished to the fringes of society.

Whoever he chooses will not only have to sleep in a crummy bedroom for a bit, but they will also face eviction in the first week.

Tom describes himself as being in a relationship.

Tom has his own nightclub because his grandad gave it to him and he regularly DJ’s at his club and sees himself as an entrepreneur.

He lives at home with his mum and younger sister and brother.

His family own a house in Marbella and he goes there regularly throughout the year, also jetting out to Ibiza where he lives up to his party boy reputation.

And he is raring to go, saying before he headed into the house: ‘It will be the craziest experience of my life but I want to go in there and smash it.’

As well as Tom, there's Kayleigh Morris, from Port Talbot who you might recognise from Ex on the Beach as well as a male stripper, a Muslim husband and wife team and a Nigerian beauty queen.

On weeknights, the reality show generally airs at 10pm with spin-off show Big Brother's Bit on the Side following straight after.

However, on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays it kicks off at 9.00pm, with the live eviction shows airing on Friday nights.
