Swansea Valley carers are being offered free advice on respite relief by a care agency in the area next month.

Abacare, which has an office in Ystradgynlais, is hosting a Respite Care Awareness Week from April 10 until 14 and will be advising people on the topic.

Peter Angelides, CEO of the multi award-winning care provider, said: “Lots of people who care for friends or family members aren’t aware of the respite relief they can benefit from.

"They deserve a well-earned rest as looking after someone can often become physically and emotionally overwhelming.

"We are inviting carers to contact us to get some free advice on the different ways they can look after themselves and give themselves a break.

"We can also let people know about our respite relief services. As well as domiciliary and live-in care, we can also provide social care workers to individuals or families who require it on a temporary basis."

Abacare operates a professional Care Management Team that is committed to providing high quality care to individuals in their own homes.

Peter added: “Our team of experts will be standing by during Respite Care Awareness Week ready to answer any questions that people call in with.

"We hope the week will be very informative for anyone that is a carer themselves."

The large team of trained, specialist, care workers provide positive based outcomes and person centred care to people throughout the UK.
