A rugby ball that will traverse the globe as part of the Rugby School's 450th anniversary has passed through Llandovery.
The honour was given to Llandovery College recently, whose warden Guy Ayling is a past pupil of Rugby School.
He and his son Oliver joined rugby great JPR Williams as part of the line-up to receive the Cardiff pass at the Principality Stadium on March 9.
The ball was then taken back to the college and will shortly begin its 6,000 mile journey from Carmarthenshire to Hong Kong.
The global pass features a Gilbert rugby ball fitted with a GPS tracking device and has so far been passed around many locations within the UK and further afield in Italy, France, Norway and Russia.
Before its journey's end on September 27, the ball will have been passed 450 times across the world in locations far and wide, through 27 countries, seven continents and as far as the Hebrides and the Antarctic.
Llandovery College with its own distinguished rugby tradition said it is proud to have been a part of the celebrations and that global journey.
