Dyfed-Powys Police is investigating two burglaries believed to be linked in the Garnant and Glanaman area.
The first occurred in the early hours of Monday, January 16, at a property on Tabernacle Road. The offender has entered the house and stolen £70.
At around 6.45am the same morning, an attempted burglary occurred at a property on Maes y Hendre. The offender was disturbed by the occupier, who chased the intruder out of the house and up the road losing sight of him heading towards Maes y Bedol. Nothing was taken.
The incidents are believed to be linked.
The offender was a white male wearing a cap and carrying a rucksack. He was also wearing a black jacket.
Anyone who witnessed either of these crimes or has information that could help police identify this man, is urged to call Ammanford CID on 101.
