An unexploded World War One bomb which was taken into a Pontardawe pub has been removed safely.
Police officers were called to the town at around 7.30pm last night, Wednesday January 11, and closed off Herbert Street with bomb disposal experts also at the scene.
It is believed that residents were also evacuated from their homes after the device was taken into The Pink Geranium pub.
A spokesman for South Wales Police said: "Local residents were evacuated from their homes as a precautionary measure.
“We are able to confirm that the device found earlier in Pontardawe has now been removed by bomb disposal and the area declared safe.
“We would like to thank the public and local residents for their patience.”
