THREE people have been taken to hospital following a car collision which closed a road for six hours near Nantgaredig. 

The two-vehicle collision happened before 10am this morning, Friday, January 6, on the A40 between Abergwili and Nantgaredig.

A man and a young boy are at Glangwili Hospital, but their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Also a woman was taken to Morriston Hospital by air ambulance with potentially serious injuries.

A Wales Air Ambulance helicopter and two road ambulances were at the scene, as well as officers from Dyfed-Powys Police and two fire crews.

Dyfed-Powys Police said that anyone with information about the collision should call 101.
