BARRIERS at a level crossing in Ammanford have now been raised after leaving motorists stuck in traffic for over an hour.
Heavy traffic was at standstill in Ammanford this afternoon due to a level crossing failure, but the problem has now been resolved.
The barriers on the level crossing on Park Street near Tesco failed to go up at around 12pm this afternoon.
The incident led to on-going traffic in all directions.
The incident was reported to Network Rail at 12.10pm this afternoon.
Engineers attended the scene and traffic is back to normal.
A spokesperson for Network Rail said: “The level crossing failure was reported to Network Rail and Dyfed-Powys Police at around 12.10pm this afternoon.”
