MEMBERS of an Ammanford fitness centre have thrown their weight behind a Swansea Valley girl who lost her arm to cancer.

Three-year-old Demi Wilson from Clydach, suffers from Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma a rare form of cancer which led to her having her arm amputated for the best chance of survival.

Demi's family and friends have since launched a Just Giving page with the aim of raising £10,000 to help Demi adjust to life after losing her arm.

After hearing of Demi's fund, kind-hearted members of Primal Gym - home of Funkypump fitness - have been busy raising money through bucket collections and a raffle and have so far raised £1,450 towards the appeal.

Hayley Phillips, co-owner of Primal Gym said: "On behalf of myself and all the team, thank you so much to everyone that has helped and shown support.

"We have been overwhelmed with the kindness and generosity shown to help this beautiful brave little girl, God bless you all."

Hayley added that more events are already in the pipeline to raise additional money for Demi's fund.
