A LLANDYBIE mother has braved the dreaded bushtucker trial in her latest attempt to help her win her perfect world.

Gemma Davies of Llandybie, dined out on courses of chicken’s feet, witchetty grub and cow tongue live in front of a camera which was broadcasted on social media.

The mother of three entered The Perfect World Project last October and has fought off the competition to reach the top 50 places to win a six-figure sum to create her dream world.

The 32-year-old stated in her application that she would like to open two projects in the community, a riding school for children, young adults and adults with learning disabilities and also open the first rehabilitation home for ex-service men and women in Wales.

Gemma said: “The bushtucker trail went really well. We ended up having over 5000 views on the video which is excellent.

“At the moment I am currently 12th place out of 50 and the top 20 go through to the next stage which is my next aim.

“I need as many votes as I can to secure a rehabilitation centre for ex-service man and women as there is currently no centre for people suffering with Post-traumatic Stress Disorder in Wales, and I have friends who currently travel two hours away to get the help they need.”

The next stage will see Gemma face an interview with The Perfect World owner Russel Priestley which will pick the top 10 to live in a house in a reality TV show.

Gemma said: “I have had tradesmen contact me already and say that if I win, they will help me set up the centres.

“I have also had loads of supportive messages from veterans which shows I have already made an impact and I won’t stop until I get my dream.

“Over the next three weeks, I am going to be campaigning locally and going around with billboards telling everyone exactly what I am doing and how they can help.”

Gemma only has until 11am on September 30 to get votes in. You can vote by visiting facebook.com/theperfectworldproject.
