PLAID Cymru in Brecon and Radnorshire have confirmed their candidate for May's Welsh Assembly Election.

Freddy Greaves was the party candidate at the 2015 General Election, where he secured the best result for Plaid in over 40 years.

Following confirmation of his candidacy at the annual general meeting of the constituency party in Brecon, Mr Greaves said: “I am excited to be standing again for Plaid Cymru in the Assembly election.

“I look forward to building on the positive campaign we ran for last year's general election and helping to secure the change Wales needs.

“It's clear that the Welsh Government are failing public services in Powys and we would rebalance funding to recognise the needs of rural Wales.

"I am pleased to announce I will also be standing on the regional list for Mid and West Wales.

"Every regional vote Plaid receives will ensure we are one step closer to having Leanne Wood as our First Minister and at last a government in Cardiff that works for everyone in Wales."
