A HORSE has been found dead and five seriously injured in Pontardawe yesterday.
The animals were believed to have been kept close to a disused quarry in the town.
RSPCA and police were at the scene and the owners contacted following the discovery on Wednesday morning.
A spokesperson from the RSPCA said, “The RSPCA can confirm that it has attended a premises in Pontardawe and removed six horses.
"One was found dead. We are unable to comment further on this matter.
“We will always look into, and if necessary, investigate any complaints made to us about animal welfare, but a lot of the time many issues will be dealt with by advice and education and it is not always appropriate to publicise this information for legal and data protection reasons.”
