AMMANFORD Police is taking to social media to give residents an opportunity to ask the questions they want answered.

Inspector Stuart Bell, the area’s most senior policeman, is to take part in the Q&A session on Monday, August 4, when he will respond to questions put by members of the public.

“Social media is an incredibly powerful tool,” said Inspector Bell.

“It gives the police the opportunity to engage with the public in ways that could not have been dreamt of just a few years ago.

“It is a great way to stay in touch with the public and for the public to stay in touch with us.”

Inspector Bell hopes the the session will give people the chance to ask questions that they want answered, but would not otherwise know where to turn.

“I have found that there are lots of questions people want to ask the police, but they never have the opportunity,” he said.

“The public may have questions about area-wide policing or police strategies, and officers on the street may not have the answers.

“A Q&A session using social media gives the public the chance to ask questions directly to the people in charge.

“As the senior officer in Ammanford, I will be able to answer people’s questions in ways a constable in the street may not be able to.”

To put your questions to Inspector Bell, simply send your message via Twitter using the hashtag #AskStuBell.

Submitting questions in advance of the session will allow Inspector Bell to research your query and provide as full a response as possible.

He will be live on Twitter on Monday, August 4, from 6pm to 8pm, and will be answering as many of the submitted questions as he is able to in the time.
