DISCOVER the benefits of taking the bus in Carmarthenshire during National Catch the Bus Week.

The week, which runs from Monday (June 29) to July 5, is a national celebration aimed at driving awareness of the benefits of taking the bus and Carmarthenshire’s rural transport champion Bwcabus is getting involved.

The aim is to encourage people who don't normally take the bus to give it a try.

Bwcabus is offering new passengers registering during the week of June 29-July 5 a free day ticket on Bwcabus. Simply register your details at website www.bwcabus.info or call our bilingual call centre 01239 801 601 to receive your free ticket.

There is also a Big Kids Day Out on Saturday (July 4) when all users – whatever their age - will be able to travel at child’s fare rates.

These tickets can be purchased on Bwcabus vehicles and can be used on 460, T1 and T5 connecting services as well as Bwcabus with just one ticket.

The Council’s executive board member for transport services, Cllr Hazel Evans, said: “Bwcabus has revolutionised travel opportunities in the more remote parts of Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion.

“Here’s a chance in Catch the Bus Week for those who have not yet climbed on board to give Bwcabus a try and for regular paying Bwcabus passengers to ride at child rates for a day.”
