RUGBY stars came out in force to support a new venture headed by the wife of ex-international rugby legend Shane Williams.

Crowds gathered at the grand opening of Star Animal Feeds, a new sister company of the well established Star Multi Fuels, on Wednesday, May 27.

Keeping things in the family, Gail Williams and brother Andrew Lacey, organised the open day which drew hundreds of well-wishers to their newly re-developed warehouse.

Welsh international rugby stars, such as Martyn Williams, Lee Byrne and Ian Gough, to name but a few, made guest appearances at the open day and chatted and mingled with members of the community.

The family-run firm intend to supply animal feed to the local and wider area stocking everything from feeding your prized pony to grooming your pet pooch, this place really does have it all.

“This is a new venture for us we are all very excited about it,” said Andrew Lacey.

“We are employing two or three people at the moment but we hope to increase that by offering a delivery service in the very near future.

The family came-up with the idea for the giant animal feed centre when they were discussing how best to make use of their warehouse.

“We wanted to utilise some extra space we had, and because my sister and all our children have been very passionate about horses our entire lives we came up with this idea, " added Andrew.

“We will be one of the largest animal feed suppliers in the area – with the added bonus of stocking everything under one roof.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who came and supported us its been great to see everybody and we have had a fantastic day.”
