A round-up of cases to have appeared before Llanelli magistrates in the past two weeks.

AN AMMANFORD man is set to plea over two charges of fly tipping.

Leighton Balbini, aged 32, of 18 Mynyddbach, is charged with two counts of depositing controlled waste, namely bags of rubbish, at Heol Nant, Llannon, on September 17 without a permit.

Llanelli magistrates adjourned the case until May 29 for the plea to be entered and Balbini was remanded on unconditional bail.

LLANELLI magistrates have adjourned the case of a Carmel women accused of housing benefit fraud.

Kim Marie Richardson, aged 43, of 4 Bryngelli, is alleged to have failed to notify Carmarthenshire County Council of a change in circumstances, which would have affected her entitlement, namely that she had vacated the property.

The plea will be heard on May 29 at Llanelli court.

THE CASE of an Amman Valley woman who is charged with being the parent of comprehensive school truant has been adjourned by Carmarthen magistrates.

The woman, from the Garnant area, is charged with being the parent of a 14-year-old pupil who failed to attend Ysgol Dyffryn Aman regularly between September 8 and December 12.

The case was adjourned until May 29 at the request of the defence.

A TUMBLE man is set to be sentenced by Carmarthen magistrates after he admitted to dumping household waste and appliances near Llanelli Crematorium.

Craig Gee, of 21 Troed y Bryn, Upper Tumble, dumped a fridge, television, cardboard boxes, earthworks and bags of household rubbish on land close to the crematorium on Penprys Road on January 9.

The case was adjourned until May 29.

AN AMAMNFORD man has received an 18-month conditional discharge for possession of drugs and using threatening behaviour.

Damian Hughes, aged 40, of 113 Myddynfych, admitted he had 0.09 grams of the Class A drug diamorphine on him in Ammanford on March 17 and also admitted a count of using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour towards Gareth Howells and Rachel Hinton in the town on March 23.

Llanelli magistrates ordered him to pay £85 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.

A charge of assault was withdrawn due to lack of prosecution witnesses.

CARMARTHEN magistrates have adjourned the case of a Towy Valley man who denies benefit fraud.

John Austin Evans Davies, aged 25, of 7 Llanfair Road, Llandovery, is alleged to have failed to notify Carmarthenshire County Council of a change in circumstance which would have affected his entitlement to both job seekers allowance and housing benefit, namely that he was living with his wife. The offences are said to have happened on or around February 7.

The case was adjourned until June 5 to be held at Llanelli Magistrates Court.

LLANELLI magistrates have fined a Tumble motorist £65 with three points after he was caught driving without a licence.

Raymond Burke, aged 69, of 54 Heol Y Neuadd, admitted the offence, which happened at Carmarthen in November, and must also pay £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.

AN AMMAN Valley man has been fined £400 with three licence points after Llanelli magistrates convicted him of driving with a bald tyre.

Jonathan Lewis Gill, aged 39, of 132 Heol Y Gelynen, Upper Brynaman, was convicted in his absence of having rear, near-side tyre which was on a tread less than 1.6mm at Gwaun cae Gurwen in September.

He must also pay costs of £85 and a £40 victim surcharge.

THREE motorists have received £200 fines from Llanelli magistrates after all were convicted in their absence of not wearing seat belts.

Andrew Dennis Fry, aged 39, of 100 St Teilo Street, Pontarddulais, was caught in Hendy in September as was

Kyle Jarrod Hill, aged 25, of 31 Heol Cae Gurwen, Gwaun Cae Gurwen.

Deborah Fiona Wheeler, aged 54, of 55 Heol Ceirios, Llandybie, was also caught without a belt September in Llandybie.

All must pay costs of £85 and a £20 victim surcharge each.
