Welsh Labour’s Carmarthen East and Dinefwr candidate Calum Higgins used the visit of Leanee Wood to Ammanford on Monday to express his disappointment that Plaid Cymru would not commit to supporting a Labour government:
"We heard on Sunday that Plaid Cymru MPs could be ordered vote with the Tories to bring down a minority Labour Government,” said Mr Higgins, following Ms Woods’ appearance on the BBC’s Sunday Politics Wales show where she said there could be “some circumstances” in which Plaid Cymru would withhold its support should Ed Milliband secure a minority victory.
“This would result in a second election in the same year.
“I'm disappointed that Leanne Wood did not take this opportunity to back a Labour government and to put an end to speculation.
“One thing I’m sure of this that voters in the Amman Valley do not want another Tory Government.”
