A LLANDOVERY barn conversion, and sometime retreat, is the subject of extension plans.
Carmarthenshire County Council has received an application to increase the living facilities at Disserth y Mynydd, Ithion Duon, Rhandirmwyn, by adding a single storey extension.
The barn, which was converted around six years ago, is permanently lived in by Sister Ruth and used occasionally as retreat for meditation and prayer.
In the application, Agents Towy Architects Practice, refer to the property as single storey with a mezzanine level consisting of a separate bathroom and kitchen and an open area acting as a living room and bedroom.
Describing the arrangement as ‘rather unsuitable’, the applications outlines plans for the extension to contain a bedroom, bathroom and hall in the area where a previous stone barn existed.
