A Royal Navy chief petty officer from Penygroes has denied possessing cocaine at Llanelli Magistrates Court.
Mathew Fuge, of 178 Waterloo Road, told police he had found a bag containing the drug along with his ex-wife’s credit card in the toilet of an Ammanford pub on December 6.
The 32-year-old told officers he had only picked up the items because of the name on the credit card.
Mr Fuge, who is due to set sail on an operational tour of duty on Monday, pleaded not guilty to the possession charge and elected to face trial by jury.
He is due to appear at Swansea Crown Court tomorrow (Friday).
