Le Cordon Bleu London, the UK’s leading culinary institute, has announced the launch of its 2015 Scholarship Award, a grant that offers an aspiring chef the opportunity to study in its London flagship.

This year the lucky winner will be awarded the coveted Diplôme de Cuisine followed by a three month Diploma in Culinary Management.

During 12 months, the winner will be provided classical and advanced culinary techniques alongside management studies.

Over a century, le Cordon Bleu has built a worldwide reputation in the Hospitality and Gastronomy industry with its renowned diplomas.

As part of the 2015 scholarship Le Cordon Bleu has teamed up with Celtic Manor Executive Chef Michael Bates to find Wales’ next talent.

The semi finals for Wales will be held at the Celtic Manor and judged by Mr Bates.

The Scholarship Award is now open to any UK resident from 18 years old upward who is prepared for a life changing experience.

The Scholarship in addition to the Diplôme de Cuisine and Diploma in Culinary Management includes accommodation in central London courtesy of our partner Urbanest and an internship in the two Michelin-starred restaurant, The Square, under the guidance of Chef Phil Howard.

Celtic Manor Executive Chef Michael Bates said, “I am excited to be working with Le Cordon Bleu to help judge its UK Scholarship Award.

“We are always keen to develop the next generation of talent in our kitchens so we are delighted that the Wales semi-final will take place right here at Celtic Manor.

“This is a wonderful scholarship opportunity for one lucky aspiring chef to get the best possible grounding in the industry and it would be fantastic if we could unearth the winner right here in Wales.”

Applicants are invited to upload a short video clip of themselves at

Successful applicants from Wales will subsequently be invited for the semi-final at Celtic Manor with Michael Bates.

The last stage of the competition will take place at Le Cordon Bleu London institute. The winner will be chosen by a panel of Le Cordon Bleu’s world-renowned Master Chefs, alongside senior members of Le Cordon Bleu’s academic committee.
