A round-up of some of the recent cases to go before Llanelli magistrates.

AN AMAMNFORD man, who was caught with cannabis, has been conditionally discharged for six months by Llanelli magistrates.

Steven Shaun Jones, aged 33, of 21b Wind Street, admitted he had .57 grams of cannabis in Ammanford on January 25.

He must also pay costs of £50 and a £15 victim surcharge.

LLANELLI magistrates have fined two Llandeilo landowners for breaching council issued enforcement notices.

Meg- Anne Robinson-Redman, of Hafod Organic Farm, Capel Isaac, admitted she breached an enforcement notice issued by Carmarthenshire County Council in November 2014 by failing to remove stables from land opposite Rhyd Y Wrach, Broad Oak.

Richard Andrew Robinson-Redman, of the same address, also admitted the same charge. Each was fined £250, with a £25 victim surcharge and £170 costs.

Charges of failing to convert the land back to agricultural usage were withdrawn.

A TYCROES motorist who drove at more than 100 mile per hour on a dual carriage way has been fined £165 and his licence endorsed with six points.

Llanelli magistrates heard that John Peter Richards, aged 41, of Meadow View, Tycroes Road, was recorded doing 113 miles per hour while travelling on the A48 at Nantycaws in June. The legal limit is 70 miles per hour.

He must also pay £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.

AN AMMAN VALLEY man has been fined £600 by Llanelli magistrates for not having car insurance.

Alex Totterdell, aged 22, of 167 Cwmaman Road, Glanaman, was not in court and did to enter a plea for the offence which happened in Station Road, Ammanford, in July last year.

His licence was endorsed with six points and he must also pay costs of £85 and a £60 victim surcharge.

LLANELLI magistrates have fined a Tairgwaith motorist £200 for failing to notify of a change of ownership of a vehicle.

Elra Elise Ledbury, aged 30, of 47 King Edward Road, must also pay costs of £90 and a £20 victim surcharge. No plea was entered.

Magistrates also fined a Tumble business for using an untaxed vehicle. N B A Developments Ltd, of Bethesda House, Bethesda Road, admitted the offence and was fined £200 with £37.50 back duty and £90 costs.

SEVERAL motorists have been fined by Llanelli magistrates for breaking 30 mile per hour limits.

Gavin Elliot, aged 31, of 11 Ger-yr-Afon, Glanaman, travelled at 42mph on the B4392 at Tally in May. He was fined £400, with four licence points, £85 costs and a £40 victim surcharge. The case was proved in his absence.

Tara Jane Evans, aged 19, of 49 Maescynog, Ystradgynlais, admitted she drove at 42mph at Brecon Road, Ystradgynlais in June. She was fined £80 with three licence points and a £20 victim surcharge.

Gaynor Lee Pead, aged 54, of Awelog, Cross Hands, pleaded guilty to driving at 36mph at Porthyrhyd in July. She was fined £80 with three points and a £20 victim surcharge.
