A 25-year-old Ammanford man has been man the subject of a two-month curfew after he admitted assault and causing £3,000-worth of damage to a housing association property.

Craig Alexander Jones, of Pantyffynnon Road, will be electronically monitored to ensure he does not leave his house between 8pm and 8am after he admitted committing the offences during an incident on January 14.

Magistrates were told how Jones damaged a fireplace, back boiler and two internal doors at the property belonging to Gwalia in Ammanford on January 14.

He also admitted assault of a victim - who cannot be named for legal reasons - and to damaging a cup and mirror to the value of £40.

Jones, who was under a community order at the time of the offences, was also re-sentenced for the offences which led to the order being imposed, namely possession of 8.64 grams of cannabis and 0.76grams of mephedrone.

He also admitted committing the latest offences while subject to the order.

Llanelli magistrates ordered he attend 10 sessions of an alcohol activity course and 20 days of building skills for recovery.

A restraining order was also issued banning him from contacting the victim of the assault.

Jones mu8st also pay compensation of £40 to the victim along £85 prosecution costs and a £60 victim surcharge.
