AMMANFORD's famous cat Zeus is missing and his devastated owners are offering a reward for his safe return home.

The black and white feline was last seen on Monday, January 19.

Zeus hit the headlines recently for his wondering antics, where he is often found roaming the aisles of the Quay Street stores.

Distraught owners Jessica Morris and Ceiran Price said they have been searching for Zeus day and night and are getting very worried for his safety.

"It's not the first time Zeus has gone missing, but on previous occasions he has been gone a day or two and soon comes home for food," said Jessica.

"We've left food out the back door in case he comes home at night, but he hasn't touched it.

"I hope no-one has taken him.”

Since Zeus went missing the Guardian has appealed for information on its website and has received a number of possible sightings, which have been followed up by Ceiran and Jessica, with still no joy.

“People are saying they are seeing him but there are so many black and white cats in the area I think he is being mistaken for another cat,” said Jessica.

“We were told he may have been over by the cemetery on Dyffryn Road. My family and I searched for days but still no sign of him.”

Both Jessica and Ceiran are calling on everyone to check their garden sheds and lock-ups.

“He must be somewhere, surely someone has seen him.”

The couple are now offering a reward for the Zeus’s safe return.

“We just want him home now,” said Jessica.

“We don’t care how much it will cost us - we need to know he is safe.”

A concerned Garnant resident, Margaret Davies, who heard about Zeus going missing said she hopes the people of Ammanford come together and find the missing feline.

“I recently lost a ring in Ammanford and if that can be found by the lovely people of Ammanford surely we can all get together and find Zeus,” said Margaret.

Jessica said she has been touched by the public’s reaction to Zeus.

“I’m incredibly grateful to everyone for their support and help,” said Jessica.

“I made up posters and Ceiran has been asking all shop owners to put them up in the town. If everyone can share the missing appeal on social media hopefully he will be home with us again soon.”
