A Glanaman man has been fined after he admitted possessing cannabis.
Owen Andrew Caines, of Cwmaman Road, appeared before Llanelli magistrates to plead guilty to possessing 1.5 grammes of the Class B drug when he was searched by police on October 24.
Ellie Morgan prosecuting, told the court how officers spotted the 21-year-old driving into a car park on Penybanc Road at 8.45pm.
“The officers stopped the vehicle and proceeded to search Caines - a metal tin fell out of his trouser pocket and onto the floor,” said Ms Morgan.
“The police officers asked Caines what was in the tin – he admitted there was cannabis inside.”
Caines was arrested and charged with cannabis possession - with a street value of £7.
Defence solicitor Hywel Davies, told the court that Caines, who is employed full-time as a paint sprayer, “was very sorry for his actions.”
Magistrates fined Caines £145 ordered to pay £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
