A NEW survey by XLS-Medical has proven how desperate Wales is to lose weight, asking what people would give up in order to drop a stone, with the top five being: giving up chocolate for a year (27 per cent), deleting their Facebook account (17 per cent), giving up alcohol forever (25 per cent), stopping watching their favourite soap (17 per cent) and some even said they would give up sex for a year (6 per cent).

Losing weight is the nation's top New Year's resolution of 2015 (38 per cent), and we are willing to make some interesting sacrifices in return - according to new research by XLS-Medical.

The survey marks the launch of XLS-Medical's search for people to star in a weight loss documentary series, presented by TV star Denise Van Outen.

The dieters will be supported through a weight loss programme with XLS-Medical and will have the highs and lows of their weight loss journey charted on camera, to inspire others to make a life change.

The survey highlights that the documentary series has come at the right time as Wales looks to lose a gigantic, 915.2 stone this year, and almost a third are looking to lose up to two stone (43 per cent).

Denise Van Outen, actress, TV and radio and star and host of the forthcoming XLS-Medical documentary series said: “At this time of year we’re all naturally thinking about our own health. So many people give up what they enjoy in search of a healthier lifestyle – even things like TV, or chocolate – but still struggle to make a real change.

"I’ve seen these issues with so many of my friends and family, which is why I was so keen to support XLS-Medical on its search for people to take part in its documentary series.

"From today we are searching for some amazing people who want to make a real life change in 2015 and show the highs and lows of their weight loss journey on camera, to inspire and motivate others, as well as showcase their fantastic results."
