Carmarthen East and Dinefwr MP Jonathan Edwards joined volunteers this week to deliver Meals on Wheels in the constituency.
The Plaid Cymru MP visited residents in Penygroes, Caerbryn, Blaenau and Gorslas, and took the opportunity to chat with residents who depend on the service.
Mr Edwards said delivering meals on wheels was now one of his rituals during the Christmas season.
He said each year residents tell him how immensely important the service is to them.
“Delivering meals on wheels is now an established part of my role as an MP. It is a Christmas ritual I really enjoy," said Mr Edwards.
“Each year I am told by residents how important the service is to them.
"For many it may be the only time they see someone during the day.
"Not only are they getting a hot meal, they have a friendly face to chat to and break up the day.
"I am in no doubt that some of our more vulnerable neighbours depend heavily on the meals on wheels service.
“The local volunteers who deliver warm meals day in day out deserve high praise for their efforts in helping elderly residents live as independently as possible."
