TRAFFIC issues have brought a scheme for a new day nursery to a standstill.
Amanda Morris had submitted plans to change the use of a property attached to her business The Daffodil Bakery, at 185-187 Penybanc Road, into a children’s day nursery, after school and holiday club.
But Carmarthenshire County Council has refused the scheme, as it would generate several traffic problems for the busy A483 trunk road if it went ahead.
In their report to the council, planners stated that the proposal would ‘generate unexpected vehicular turning movements including increased U-turn and reversing’
There was not adequate parking for staff and would not allow the safe drop off and pick-up of visitors.
The council agreed that the increase in traffic generated by the business would be a danger to highway safety and cause harm to occupiers of the neighbouring dwellings because of an increase in noise and disruption that would bring.
