PLANS to build a development of nine houses in Tycroes have been turned down by Carmarthenshire County Council because of the applicant’s failure to provide financial contribution to play developments in the area.
HRW Contracting Ltd of Shands Road, Tirydial, Ammanford, had proposed to build nine homes and an access road on Hafod Road.
The plans would have seen a mixture of styles of homes.
But on the recommendation of planning officers, permission was refused by full council because is it policy to seek to negotiate contributions from developers to fund community facilities, which includes things such as affordable housing, environmental projects and affordable housing.
The applicant had failed to enter into an agreement securing a financial contribution towards the improvement of educational an open space and play provision in the local area as part of the development.
