ONE of South Wales' leading foster providers is calling on Ammanford businesses to consider taking a table at their gala dinner in aid of a children's hospice.

Foster Care Associations (FCA) Cyrmu is gearing up for a night of fun, fundraising, food and frolics when it hosts its annual gala dinner in aid of Ty Hafan on December 10.

The much anticipated event at the Marriott Hotel, Swansea is appealing to local businesses who haven't yet booked their Christmas party to consider taking a table at the event, in the knowledge that they'll be supporting one of South Wales' much loved charities.

Organisers promise that the event will not disappoint with performances from Jimi Webb, one of the UK's best Michael Buble tribute acts, and members of The Rising Stars Theatre Company - a performing arts charity of young people aged between 15 and 30, from across the Swansea region, who have a range of conditions including Down's Syndrome, and ADHD to Autism.

One of the highlights of the evening will include an auction to raise money for the hospice.

Dozens of businesses from across the region have kindly donated prizes, however FCA Cymru are appealing for more auction prize donations to ensure that this year’s event is the most successful ever in terms of attendance and fundraising.

Victor Thomas, operations director, at FCA Cymru, said: “FCA Cymru feel privileged to be able to play an active role in supporting Ty Hafan in its 15th year, and the Gala Dinner is our fundraising highlight of the year. The event also marks FCA’s 20th anniversary so it promises to be the best event ever. I’d urge local businesses to support by either taking a table or perhaps donating an auction prize.”

Rebecca Chick, Business and Community Fundraiser at hospice Ty Hafan Hafan, added: “We are extremely grateful to Foster Care Associates for supporting Ty Hafan at their annual Gala Dinner.

"We need to raise £3.7m every year to provide our services to life-limited children and their families, which is why events like these are so important as we simply could not continue our care without the public’s support.”

Tickets for the event are £35 per person. Any individuals or organisations interested in buying tickets or donating an auction prize should contact Deborah Jones on 01792 315800 or email Deborah.Jones@thefca.co.uk.
