A round-up of the latest cases to have gone before Llanelli magistrates court during the past seven days.

AN AMMANFORD motorist caught doing ten miles above a 40 speed limit has been fined £50 by Llanelli magistrates.

Leila Khalfi, aged 28, of 116 Penybanc Road, admitted she had driven at 50 miles per hour at Llanelli on April 12.

She must also pay £85 costs, a £20 victim surcharge and her licence was endorsed with three points.

MAGISTRATES have fined an Amman Valley woman £600 for failing to identify a driver.

Marion Patricia Binney, aged 60, of 1 Glanmorfydd, Rhosaman, was not in court and did not enter a plea for the charge, which happened in Ffairfach on November 22 last year.

Llanelli magistrates proved the case in her absence and as well as adding six penalty points to her licence, also ordered her to pay £300 costs and £60 victim surcharge.

A TUMBLE motorist who drove at 36 miles per hour on a 30 miles per hour road has been fined £70.

Scott Flear, aged 22, of 84 Rhosnewydd admitted driving above the limit in Drefach in April and Llanelli magistrates also ordered him to pay £85 costs, a £20 victim surcharge and endorsed his licence with three penalty points.

LLANELLI magistrates have fined an Ammanford man who drove down a dual carriageway at 83 miles per hour.

Martin Leonard Anthony, aged 41, of Dol Y Dderwen, pleaded guilty to breaking the 70-mile speed limit at Foelgastell in March and also received three licence points and must pay £80 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.

AN £80 fine and three penalty points was the result for a Swansea alley motorist who broke a 30 mile per hour speed limit.

Natalie Davies, aged 38, of 4 Alder Avenue, Ystradgynlais, admitted she drove at 35 miles per hour on Cwmgarw Road, Brynaman, in April.

Llanelli magistrates also ordered her to pay a £20 victim surcharge.

LLANELLI magistrates have fined a Garnant woman £80 with a £20 victim surcharge for speeding in Talycun in April.

Cheryl Evans, aged 48, of 45 Cwmamman Road, drove at 48 miles per hour on the A4138 where the limit is 40 miles per hour. Her licence was also endorsed with three points.

A LLANDYBIE motorist who drove at 41 miles per hour on a road with a 30 limit has had his licence endorsed with three points.

John David Robert Griffiths, aged 48, of 94 Llandeilo Road, was also fined £80 with a £20 victim surcharge by Llanelli magistrates after he admitted the offence, which happened in Pontyates in March.

A CROSSHANDS driver broke a 30 miles per limit speed limit by travelling at 42 miles per hour, Llanelli magistrates have heard.

Byron Harries Jones, aged 46, of 150 Heol Bryngwili, admitted the offence, which happened in Porthyrhyd in November last year, and was fined £100 with £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge. His licence was endorsed with four penalty points.

LLANELLI magistrates have fined a Gwaun Cae Gurwen motorist £80 with a £20 victim surcharge after he admitted he broke the speed limit on a Llanwrtyd Wells road in March.

Stephen Mathew O’Sullivan, aged 30, of 14 Brynsiriol, drove at 43 miles per hour on the A483 where the limit is 30.

His licence was also endorsed with three penalty points.

A PONTARDDULAIS woman, who travelled at nearly twice the speed limit, has been fined £120 and given five licence points by Llanelli magistrates.

Lindsey Andrews, aged 31, of 58 Bolgoedd Road, was caught doing 55 miles per hour near Llanybydder in April- the limit there is 30 miles per hour. She pleaded guilty and must also pay a £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs.

AN AMMANFORD motorist has admitted to breaking the speed limit on 30-mile limit Talycun Road by driving at 51 miles per hour in April.

Llanelli magistrates fined David Robert Jones, aged 45, of 8 Myddynfych £80 with a £20 victim surcharge and endorsed his licence with three points.

MAGISTRATES have fined a Gorslas motorist £200 after they found her guilty of failing to wear a seat belt when driving through Cross Hands in March.

Elen Jones, aged 32, of 52 Cross Hands Road, was not at Llanelli Magistrates Court and did not enter a plea. She must also pay costs of £85 and a £20 victim surcharge.

AN AMMANFORD motorist has been banned from driving for six months after he admitted to two driving offences.

Jason Paul Larkin, aged 27, of Cefngwili Farm, Pontarddulais Road, Tycroes, drove without licence and without insurance in Carmel in March, Llanelli magistrates heard.

He was also fined £110 with £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.

THREE licence points and a £80 fine was the result for two Amman Valley motorists who broke 30 miles per hour speed limits on the same Ammanford road on the same day.

Lyndsey Phillips, aged 25, of 42 Maes Gareth Edwards, Gwaun Cae Gurwen admitted she had driven at 36 miles per hour on Saron Road, Saron on April 17 and Zea Louise Preston, aged 39, of 40 Llandeilo Road, Brynaman, also admitted she had broken the speed limit on the same day-travelling at 35 miles per hour.

Both must also pay a £20 victim surcharge each.

REPEAT offending has cost a Swansea Valley man his licence for six months after Llanelli magistrates found him guilty of failing to identify a driver.

Robert Morgan Thomas, aged 38, of 8 Woodville Street, Pontarddulais, was not in court and did not enter a plea for the offence, which happened in Trimsaran in April.

He was also fined £600 with £85 costs and a £60 victim surcharge.
