A LLANDEILO man who was claiming housing benefits has appeared in court after he failed to tell the council of a change in his financial circumstances.

Thomas Peter Tudor Williams, of 17 Rhosdeg, Rhosmaen, had failed to notify Carmarthenshire Council that his spouse, Louise Williams, was in employment;-a change that he knew would affect entitlement to housing and council tax benefit.

Williams, aged 47, admitted the charge when he appeared at Carmarthen Magistrates Court and was ordered to carry out 50 hours of unpaid work and to pay costs of £200 and a victim surcharge of £60.

LLANELLI magistrates have ordered an Amman Valley man to carry out110 hours of community service after he admitted to benefit fraud.

Keith Richards, aged 51, of 26 Tan Y Gelli, Glanaman, had falsely claimed he was not working while obtaining jobseekers allowance and employment support allowance in Ammanford in November last year. He must also pay a victim surcharge of £60.

MOTORING offences have cost an Ammanford woman £200 and three penalty points after Llanelli magistrates found her guilty in her absence.

Holly Beisley, aged 28, of 70 Parc Gwernen, Fforest Fach, Tycroes, was convicted of using a mobile while driving and having no MOT and must also pay £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge. No plea was entered

FAILING to insure his car has resulted in a £600 for an Ammanford man who has been found guilty by Llanelli Magistrates.

Nigel Wayne Phillips, aged 35, of 75 Pantyffynnon Road, entered no plea to the charge of driving with no insurance on School Road, Ammanford in May. Convicting him in his absence, magistrates also issued six penalty points and ordered costs of £85 and a £60 victim surcharge to be paid.

A LLANDOVERY man, who drove with no insurance, also failed to stop for a police officer.

Graham Hill, aged 20, of Blue Bell Inn, 19, High Street, was not in court and entered no plea to the two charges, which happened on March 9 in Carmarthen.

Convicting him in his absence, Llanelli Magistrates ordered a £600 fine with £60 costs and a £60 victim surcharge. They also endorsed his licence with six penalty points.

A SWANSEA Valley man drove while banned, Llanelli Magistrates Court has heard.

Lwando Ruben Shenxane, aged 23, of 10 Heol Giedd, Ystradgynlais, admitted to driving through the town in May while previously banned. He also admitted to a second charge of having no MoT.

Magistrates fined him £85 with £20 victim surcharge and £85 costs as well as issuing three penalty points.

A GORSLAS man who failed to identify a driver thought to have committed an offence has been fined £600 after Llanelli magistrates convicted him in his absence.

Richard James Williams, aged 29, of 5A Cross Hands Road, was also issued with six penalty points and ordered to pay a £60 victim surcharge and £85 costs for the offence, which happened in April.

No plea was entered and a second charge of speeding was withdrawn.

A LEARNER driver who failed to display L-plates and had no insurance has been fined by Llanelli Magistrates.

Pascal Jens Ziegler, aged 21, of Victoria House, Church Street, Llangadog, admitted the two offences, which happened at the car park of Tesco Ammanford in May.

Ziegler also received six penalty points and must pay costs of £85 and a £20 victim surcharge.
