A LLANDEILO woman has been fined £600 and her licence endorsed with six penalty points after she was found guilty of failing to identify a driver thought to have committed an offence.

Margaret Hubbart, aged 74, of Glandulais Farm, Cwmifor, was not in Llanelli Magistrates Court and entered no plea to offence, which happened at Tally in January.

She was also ordered to pay costs of £85 and a £60 victim surcharge. A second charge of speeding was withdrawn.

AN AMMANFORD woman has been fined £40 for not wearing a seat belt while driving.

Zenia Rose Jenkins, aged 19, of 12 Saron Road, Saron, admitted the offence, which happened on Cwmaman Road, Garnant, in March. Llanelli magistrates also ordered her to pay £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.

AN AMMANFORD man has been fined by Llanelli magistrates for failing to pay road tax.

David Edwards Evans, aged 42, of 148 Waterloo Road, Capel Hendre, was fined £600 with £131.25 back duty after he failed to pay his excise duty in January.

Evans was not in court and magistrates proved the case in his absence, also ordering him to pay costs of £90.

TWO PEOPLE have been fined by Llanelli Magistrates for failing to notify the DVLA of a change of ownership of cars.

Josh Merrick, aged 25, of 11 Heol Y Gors, Cwmgors, was fined £200 with £90 costs and a £20 victim surcharge for the offence, which was proved in his absence and happened in February.

Meanwhile, Gillian Stephens, aged 50, of Brynhyfryd, Llandeilo Road, Brynaman, was also fined £200, with £90 costs a £20 victim surcharge. She was also found guilty in her absence.

IT WAS a £140 fine and three licence points for a Swansea Valley man who drove while using a mobile phone.

Mark Allan, aged 33, of 1 Coedlan, Lower Cwmtwrch, admitted the offence, which happened at Wind Road, Ystradgynlais, in March. Llanelli magistrates also ordered him to pay £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.

Magistrates also fined Kenneth Andrew Austin, aged 46, of 2 Snow Terrace, Ystradgynlais, £80 after he admitted he had driven while using a phone in Llanon in March.

Austin was ordered to pat a £20 victim surcharge and also received three penalty points.

NOT BUCKLING up has cost two local men fines.

Padraig O’Coibhnigh, aged 44, of 19 Ceidrim Road, Garnant, admitted he did not wear a belt while driving through Carmarthen in March. Llanelli magistrates fined him £135 with £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.

Robert Teaman (sic) Smith, aged 63, of The Dingles, Cwmgwili, pleaded guilty to not wearing his seatbelt when he drove in Capel Hendre in March. He was fined £40 and ordered to pay £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
