A group of young Amman Valley musicians are singing a happy song after landing key funding to keep them in tune.
Members of the Gwaun cae Gurwen band scooped the windfall from the Sustainable Hubs Key Fund to buy new instruments.
Band chairman Marshall Evans said: “This grant comes in great recognition of the good work going on within our organisation and will enable us to expand our junior band.”
The Gwaun cae Gurwen band has been extremely busy throughout the summer season performing a number of fundraising concerts, fetes and carnivals.
The band has also earned a succession of prizes in local brass band competitions, and are already gearing up for what promises to be an extremely busy festive season.
The award is part funded by the Western Valleys Strategic Regeneration Area along with Carmarthernshire county council and the Welsh Government.
