Crime figures in Cwmaman fantastic
POLICE in the Amman Valley are doing a great job, Cwmaman town councillors believe.
Speaking at a recent meeting, PCSO Hannah Jones revealed that seven out of nine crimes in the Glanaman and Garnant areas had been detected.
She told councillors that the 78 percent detection rate for September was a "fantastic" figure for the month.
Responding to the comments, Cllr Kevin Madge said, “The officers in the Amman Valley are doing a great job, as these figures show.”
“It is very pleasing to see the low figure,” added PCSO Jones.
Cllr Madge also took the opportunity to express his concerns about children and adults riding bicycles in the area with no lights.
“With the nights getting darker earlier it is now more important than ever to ensure the cyclists have correct lights on their bikes,” said Cllr Madge.
“I suggest speaking to the local schools to highlight the issue,” he added.
PCSO Jones said she would bring the issue up at the next Pact meeting.
