THE Ammanford British Heart Foundation (BHF) Cymru branch along with Glynhir golf club in Llndybie have raised funds for the British Heart Foundation (BHF) Cymru’s There’s No Time To Wait Appeal.
Glynhir donated £750 and the Ammanford branch donated £450 to purchase the defibrillator for the golf club.
The appeal is raising money to train more people in emergency life-support skills and to place many more defibrillators (AEDs) across Wales with help from the Welsh Ambulance Service.
Mair Hitchings chairman of Ammanford branch says: “We were delighted as a committee to help support Glynhir golf club by providing much-needed life saving equipment for the club.”
Jeff Roach member at Glynhir golf club said “The club are delighted to have a defibrillator and hope that it never has to be used however staff and members will also be trained to use the defibrillator.”
Jayne Lewis, Fundraising Manager for Mid and West Wales at BHF Cymru said: With more people in Wales trained in emergency lifesupport skills and more AEDs available locally, the chances of resuscitating someone from a cardiac arrest should be greatly improved.
To donate to the Appeal, text SWLA99 to 70070 to donate £5, or to make a donation by phone, call 02920 382368 quoting ‘There’s No Time To Wait Appeal’.
