A CAPEL Hendre man has been fined £200 for fly-tipping.
Jason William Edwards, of Waterloo Road, was also ordered to pay £200 prosecution costs and a £15 victims’ surcharge.
The 24-year-old pleaded guilty at Carmarthen Magistrates Court to an offence contrary to Section 33 of the E n v i r o n m e n t a l Protection Act 1990. The prosecution was brought by Carmarthenshire County Council.
The court heard that council environmental enforcement officers attended a piece of land to the rear of Waterloo Road in Capel Hendre following information received from a member of the public of illicit tipping.
They waste including concrete, bricks and cement and enquiries identified the offender as Edwards. Edwards conceded in a formal interview he had deposited the waste. Executive Board Member for Environmental and Public Protection Cllr Jim Jones said: “The council is committed to tackling fly-tipping and is working hard to improve the quality of the environment in Carmarthenshire.”
